Overview:

Hydra Light International Limited (“Hydra Light”) is a world leader and pioneer in research and development of magnesium air fuel cell (“Mag-Air”) technology.

Hydra Light was born out of the founders’ desire to commercialize portable, safe and ecologically friendly alternatives to conventional batteries, and commenced operations in May 2014, when it entered into a licensing arrangement to design, develop and generally commercialize a Mag-Air concept and technology that had been commenced in the USA.

Hydra Light’s Research and Development Team spent the next four years evolving and innovating the technology and developed the patented (*) water-activated HydraCell.

In 2018, Hydra Light acquired all the rights to the HydraCell technology and began commercial operations by entering into a distribution agreement with a leading As-Seen-On-TV company to sell the first generation of its HydraCell technology. Over 300,000 units of Hydra Light’s first-generation technology were sold in the USA.

In 2019 HydraCell second-generation fuel cells were sold through niche distribution channels in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Throughout 2019 and into 2020, Hydra Light continued to innovate and enhance its technology and in April 2020 released its third generation HydraCell technology.

Research, development, and the further innovation and enhancements of its HydraCell technology remains an important corporate focus.

The HydraCell:

The HyrdraCell is a water-activated oxygen fuel cell that offers longevity of shelf life, extended usage times, lower operational costs, and operates (and is disposed of) without toxic emissions.

The HydraCell technology comes in two form factors – a dip cell (dip in water) and a water reservoir (pour in water).

The HydraCell has many advantages over other technologies, particularly traditional dry-cell (carbon, alkaline and lithium) batteries, and kerosene, including:

 Power generation: The HydraCell generates its own power when activated, as opposed to a traditional battery, which stores and releases power.

 Virtually infinite life: The HydraCell has a long and potentially infinite shelf life of many years, before activation.

 Long use time: Once activated in water the HydraCell provides significantly longer usage times.

 Environmentally friendly: The natural minerals and materials in the HydraCell are consumed during the life of the fuel cell. There is no soil contamination (traditional batteries leak chemicals into the earth for decades) and the outer casing is fully recyclable.

According to the EPA, each year the USA throws away more than 3 billion batteries. That’s about 180,000 tons, many of which are single-use carbon and alkaline batteries – an expensive and environmentally damaging habit. Placed end to end, these batteries would circle the world six times!

Globally, over 1.2 billion people live without access to electric light and are dependent on batteries, kerosene, diesel or candles for their power and lighting needs.

HydraCell is a real, safe, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and cheap alternative.

Hydra Light operates from its Melbourne head office, and has offices in the Philippines (R&D team) and China, and produces its products through a world-class electronics factory in Philippines and plastic injection and assembly factories in China. It has an active business development resources in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the United States of America.
